Goals

Our Camp attempts to instruct directly to your needs. We created a format that will cater to beginner and intermediate triathletes - at the same time, we build in the flexibility to cater to the individuals specific needs, weaknesses, and inquiries. Below is an outline of what you can expect to take away from the GTS / TYB Triathlon Camp:

• Over 25 years of triathlon experience between the 3 coaches and leaders – Jamie Church and Alfred Olivetti.

• Something for everyone. From beginner to veteran, the camp is geared to answer all of your questions. The goal is to provide all athletes with useful information in their training.

• Heart Rate Zone Field Tests for both the bike and the run. A Heart Rate Zone Field Test will provide the baseline for the athletes Heart Rate Training Zones. When and how to use the zones will be discussed further during the camp.

• Underwater swim stroke analysis using an underwater camera system. The athlete will have his/her swim stroke taped using the underwater camera and then analyzed on a TV for the athlete to see.

• Bike Spin Analysis to improve pedaling efficiency, bike fit tips, and a discussion to further help the athlete understand the differences between a standard road bike and a triathlon bike.

• Run Gait Analysis to determine the proper type shoe for the athlete. Along with the Run Gait Analysis, athletes will be instructed on running drills to help improve technique and efficiency.

• Hands on Transition Practice. Sometimes known as the 4th event in the sport of triathlon, hands on transition practice will give the athlete great knowledge and preparation at their first triathlon.

• Benefits of Heart Rate Zone Training and the ability to find your specific heart rate zones through “field testing.”

• Learn the secrets of nutrition for the race and the secrets of nutrition during training.

• How to apply strength training and core training to the sport of triathlon. Learn the best techniques to improving strength specifically related to the sport of triathlon.
